چکیده

Thermodynamic analysis of an ideal air-standard Atkinson cycle with temperature dependant specific heat is presented in this paper. The paper outlines the effect of maximizing power density on the performance of the cycle efficiency. The power density is defined as the ratio of the power output to the maximum cycle specific volume. It showed significant effect on the performance of the cycle over the constant specific heat model. The results obtained from this work can be helpful in the thermodynamic modeling and in the evaluation of real Atkinson engines over other engines. © 2008 Jordan Journal of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Comparison of Performances of Air-Standard Atkinson, Diesel and Otto Cycles with Constant Specific Heats

The current paper examines the application of finite-time thermodynamics in order to compare the performance between air-standard cycles, i.e. Atkinson, Diesel and Otto cycles with constant specific heats of working fluid. The effects of input temperature and compression ratio on the net output work and efficiency of the Atkinson cycle, Diesel cycle and Otto cycle are analyzed. It is assumed th...

Sensitivity analysis of dependency of working fluid thermo-dynamics properties to temperature on performance of Gama-type Stirling engine

This research proposes the effect of temperature variation in the Prandtl number on the power, the efficiency and the heat loss of the Gama-type Stirling engine. It should be noted that the Prandtl number included the viscosity, the thermal conductivity coefficient and the specific heat at constant pressures of the working fluid, which the temperature dependency of such first two thermo-dynamic...
